How returns work — step by step

  1. Initiate online — Go to inkandchai.in, sign in, open My Orders, find the order, and click Request Return. You'll be asked for a brief reason (wrong book, damaged, not as described, etc.).
  2. Pickup scheduled — Our courier partner will reach out within 48 hours to pick up the book from your delivery address. Keep the original packaging if possible.
  3. Inspection at warehouse — Once we receive the book, our team verifies its condition. This usually takes 1–2 business days after the package arrives at our facility.
  4. Automatic refund — As soon as inspection passes, the refund is processed automatically to the same payment method. Online payments land back in 2–4 business days. COD orders are refunded to your bank account or UPI ID (collected during the return request).

What's eligible for return?

✅ Wrong book delivered · ✅ Damaged or torn pages · ✅ Counterfeit / pirated copy · ✅ Not as described on the product page · ✅ Missing pages or printing defects.

What's not eligible?

❌ Books returned without their original packaging or in a soiled / writing-marked condition · ❌ Customised or pre-order titles · ❌ Returns requested more than 7 days after delivery · ❌ Damage caused after delivery (water spills, tears from rough handling, etc.).

Refund timeline

UPI / Cards / Net Banking: Refund initiated within 24 hours of inspection · credited to source account in 2–4 business days.
Cash on Delivery: Refund issued via UPI or bank transfer to the account you share during the return request · processed within 3–5 business days.
